Product Overview
I recently purchased the Meinl Percussion Snare Cajon Box Drum with Bag Bundle and I am absolutely delighted with the product. This cajon is constructed in Europe from 100 Baltic birch wood, a type of wood commonly found in high end drum set construction for its superb natural acoustic qualities. The wine red finish looks great and stands out in any setting. Measuring 12 W x 17 H x 12 D, this cajon projects clearly in acoustic music settings and can easily be used by musicians of any skill level.
The internal snares are dual sets of internal fixed snare wires positioned against the inside of the playing surface to give you the same effect as a snare drum. These snare wires are held in place with a thin mesh strap that leaves the tone unaltered. The rear port for sound development is cut into the backside of the Baltic birch resonating body to enhance the tone by letting air escape the instrument as you play it. This is also an ideal spot for microphone placement if needed.
The four solid silicone feet on the underside of the cajon eliminate unwanted vibrations while protecting the cajon body from scratches on virtually any surface. The heavy duty bag included is constructed from 600 denier synthetic fabric making it extraordinarily durable for road use while resisting water, stains and abrasions.
This cajon box drum is perfect for acoustic shows and jam sessions, singer/songwriter circles, accompanying guitarists and supporting acoustic bands in coffee house settings. Its a great grab and go percussion instrument because anyone can sit down and play this instrument, regardless of skill level or experience. You can create drum set grooves with bass and snare notes using your hands the wood playing surface has two zones for bass and snare play with your hands toward the center for deep bass or strike near the top corners with your fingers for crisp snare sounds.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable yet high quality percussion instrument that s perfect for jam sessions or acoustic shows. The craftsmanship is excellent, it has a great sound quality, and it offers great value for money considering how durable it is and all its features.
